|
The 1997 Legislature eliminated the
state requirements for the Professional Orientation Program
(POP) except for participants who, because of past
experience, had POP as a requirement on their State of
Eligibility. However, the State of Florida requires that all
new teachers demonstrate professional education competence
in order to receive a Florida Educator's Certificate. The
New Teacher Support Program assists teachers with the
documentation process by providing new teachers on-site
assistance, The New Educator, a monthly newsletter,
and opportunities for training and professional development
activities as well as assistance with obtaining a
professional educator's certificate.
