PROFESSIONAL OFFICE PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Professional Office Personnel Development Program (POPDP) is a comprehensive training program offered to improve the skills and increase the productivity of full and part-time office personnel.

POPDP offers compensation for POPDP courses taken by full-time employees after regular working hours. Part-time employees will not be compensated for completing POPDP courses; however, course credit will be banked until the employee becomes full-time.

Office employees participating in POPDP must complete four
core courses and up to a maximum of 18 elective courses. Employees will receive an increase of $1.25 per day in the daily rate of pay after the satisfactory completion of four core courses. Two core courses are designated by Human Resources and Development and two core courses are selected by the participating employee in their area of work assignment. The core courses must be satisfactorily completed before any elective courses are taken.

Employees will receive an additional $.20 per day in the daily rate of pay after the satisfactory completion of each additional elective course, up to a maximum of 18 courses. Satisfactory completion of a core or elective course is determined by the evaluation procedures described in the component design.
