CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL SECRETARY PROGRAM




The National Certified Professional Secretary (NCPS) rating is a clear indication of a person's status whether looking to advance in a present position or within the district. The NCPS rating is attained by passing a two-day examination administered twice a year the first Saturday in May and November. The examination consists of three parts which are as follows:

Accounting

Business Law

Part II

Office Systems and Administration

Office Technology

Office Administration

Business Communications

Part III

Management

Behavioral Science in Business

Human Resource Management

Organizations and Management

Miami-Dade Community College offers two 3 credit courses in preparation for the CPS exam. It is recommended that interested secretaries and business educators enroll in the CPS Examination Preparation courses prior to sitting for the examination. Full-time secretaries who pass the National Certified Professional Secretary (NCPS) examination shall be eligible for a $1000 supplement. To receive the supplement, send the original copy of the NCPS Certificate to #9316 Non-Instructional Training, ATTN: Michelle Hicks-Levy
